Meet the botanicals:

Rose Petals & Hips (Rosa centifolia) infused oil: The divine rose and its hips are thought to be slightly astringent but not drying, making it beneficial for toning dry mature and aging skin. It is referred to as cell regenerating, nourishing, balancing, rejuvating, balancing and helpful for scars.

Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) infused oil: This oil gives a beautiful drink to the skin and imparts a glowing hydrated look. Purported to be full of antioxidants that may protect the skin from environmental damage while making the skin feel silky and radiant.

*Elderflower (Sambucus nigra) infused oil: This silky smooth flower feels incredibly soothing on the skin, especially may be helpful for smoothing and nourishing skin irritations. According to Rosemary Gladstar, it helps to brighten the skin, while toning and keeping the skin looking beautiful and youthful. It is a great choice for all skin types.

Linden (Tilia cordata) infused oil: This infused oil is made with the delicate flowers of the Linden Tree. The oil infusion is thought to possess emollient, moistening, soothing, and vulnerary properties that make it helpful for dry, irritated or itchy skin.

Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum) infused oil: Referred to as the flower of immortality (“immortelle”) and it has been used since antiquity, especially by Greek civilizations. It was named after the Greek words helios- meaning sun and Chrysum-meaning gold, which directly describes this bright and sunny flower. It is known for its ability to stimulate new cell formation and help regenerate the skin (including cells and tissues). With these abilities it helps to smooth out scarring, acne, bruises, wounds, rashes, scar tissues and stretch marks. It is also thought to help tone the skin while resolving skin discoloration and other signs of evolving skin.

Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis) infused oil: An emollient, vulnerably and mucilaginous root thought to be very beneficial for weather-beaten and dry, chapped skin. The botanical name Althea translates to the Greek word meaning “to heal” which is fitting because this infused oil helps mend and provide comfort to irritated tissues.

Golden Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) oil: Jojoba oil is technically a wax and it is considered closest to your skin’s natural oils (sebum) so it will not clog pores and may possess anti-aging properties, helping to keep hydration within your skin thus helping soothe the appearance of fine lines, scars and other beautiful signs of an evolving body.

Camellia Seed (Camellia japonica) oil: This light, dry and slightly oil is pressed from the seeds of the Camellia japonica plant and it has been reported to contain 80% monounsaturated oleic acid making it exceptional for conditioning the hair and skin. The oil has been purported to be antioxidant, moisturizing, nourishing, regenerative, anti-aging, conditioning, restructuring and containing omega 9 and 6 fatty acids. It also contains antioxidant vitamins A, B, C and E Suitable and nourishing to mature, sensitive and dry flaky skin.

Castor (Ricinus communis) oil: deeply penetrating, highly emollient carrier oil that helps all the other oils and herbs penetrate deep into the layers of the skin. Helps soften dry and rough skin while adding a protective shield against exposures to hot water and or hot/cold air. Thought to contain triglyceride lips that are made up of unique fatty acids. This oil is comprised of mostly (90%) rare ricinoleic acids, which are pruproted to be anti fungal, antiviral, decongestant, and detoxifying to the skin and lymphatic system.

Sea Buckthorn Berry (Hippophaë rhamnoides)oil: This bright reddish-orange color comes from the berry extract of the Sea Buckthorn plant and is known for its cell regenerative and tissue revitalizing properties.. The orange color of the oil is from the high amounts of provitamin A carotenes and carotenoids. These constituents of the berry (carotenes and carotenoids) are thought to be beneficial in protecting the skin against sun damage from UV exposure. Reported to protect the collagen fibers and cell membranes helping the skin to remain healthy and youthful. The oil also contains vitamin C, vitamin E tocopherols, flavonoids, essential fatty acids, phytoesterols and vitamins K, B1 and B2, and B12. Interestingly, the botanical name Hippophae translates to the Greek meaning “shiny horse, because historically the fruit (berries), leaves and branches were fed to Greek horses and it was reported to make their coats incredibly healthy and shiny.

Ritual: Put a few drops in the hand and apply with your favorite hydrosol, floral water or to freshly washed damp skin. Rub the oil in gently and recite the affirmation. This oil can be used to cleanse, hydrate, tone and deeply nourish the skin.

When to reach for it: Anytime you would like to give your skin some extra loving care. This serum is full of antioxidants, essential omega fatty acids, vitamins B, C and K, and beautiful flowers that posses toning, hydrating, smoothing, and regenerating properties. Useful for supporting skin elasticity, collagen production and supporting the healing of wounds, sores, scars and sun damage. A nutritive oil that can be used as a face serum that can be applied alone after cleansing or in conjunction with another moisturizer, such as Angel Aura Face Balm. Also makes an excellent oil cleanser to wash your face and or remove makeup. To oil cleanse: First wet the face with water or hydrosol apply oil to the face and wipe off with a wet washcloth. Rinse Face with water until the oil is mostly removed. Moisturize if needed.
